ONEIDA
The uncategorizable trio Oneida (parsing psychedelia, minimalism, maximalism, and all kinds of rock) has been intimately associated with Williamsburg's colorful creative community for the past decade. It has been as transformative an era for the band as it has been for the neighborhood and their contributions to Up on the Roof's soundtrack reflects their affinity with the post-industrial, utopian creations of the area. In 2004, the Village Voice called Oneida "New York City's smartest and most prolific rock band."

PYENG THREADGILL
Another tremendous talent who calls Brooklyn home, Pyeng Threadgill contributes a stunning rendition of the title track to "Up on the Roof." Born into an artistic family on the Lower East Side of New York in the 1970′s at a time when Polish and Puerto Rican, Black, Chinese, and Jewish people were all living in close proximity. Much of Pyeng’s childhood years were spent in black box theaters, community gardens, Jazz night clubs or on the road with her dancer/choreographer mother. She studied classical music at Oberlin Conservatory and has since developed into a jazz singer and songwriter with a distinctive voice and an inspired crew of collaborators.
